05.03.2008 At the 16th annual LeadAwards ceremony held in Hamburg, Germany on March 5th, international style title Zoo Magazine was honored with a Golden LeadAward for its photo shoot of Hollywood actor John Malkovich. Featured in Zoo No. 13, and photographed by Vicki Russell, the striking spread won first prize in the Portrait Photography of the Year category. The prize marks the fourth LeadAward that Zoo has received for its quality fashion shoots.

Established in 1992, the LeadAwards is the most influential and authoritative recognition of talent in Germany's media, advertising and marketing industries. Nominees are pre-selected by the LeadAwards team before being presented to a prominent jury of A-list photographers from Germany's top magazines including Bild, Der Spiegel, Stern and Vogue.

Zoo Magazine first appeared in 2003, and has been published quarterly since 2004. Published jointly by renowned musician/photographer Bryan Adams and Sandor Lubbe - best known for publishing Dutch (1994-2002) - Zoo features the work of some of the world's top photographers, including Steven Klein, David LaChapelle, Terry Richardson, Hedi Slimane, Karl Lagerfeld and Nobuyoshi Araki. The subjects they have covered have been equally famous: Venus Williams, Madonna, Morrissey, Mickey Rourke, Courtney Love, Dustin Hoffman, Emmanuelle Seigner, Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse, to name a few.
